Thinking about brightening your smile with Zoom Teeth Whitening? Great choice! ✨

Before your appointment at Sweet Water Dentistry, here’s what you need to know to get the best results—and the safest, most comfortable experience possible.

✅ Do I Need a Cleaning Before Zoom Whitening?

Yes, it’s highly recommended!

A professional dental cleaning removes plaque and tartar that can block the whitening gel from reaching the surface of your teeth. Clean teeth = better, more even whitening results.

We may schedule a cleaning a few days before or right before your Zoom appointment.

???? Do I Need a Dental Exam Before Whitening?

Absolutely. Zoom whitening is safe—but only when your teeth and gums are healthy.

We’ll do a quick oral exam to check for cavities, gum disease, or enamel damage. If anything needs treatment first, we’ll take care of that before proceeding.

???? Whitening unhealthy teeth can cause sensitivity, uneven results, or irritation—so we never skip this step!

????‍♀️ Who Should Not Get Zoom Whitening?

While Zoom is safe for most adults, it may not be recommended for:

-

- People with untreated gum disease or cavities

- Pregnant or breastfeeding women

- Patients with extreme tooth sensitivity

- People with large visible restorations (crowns, veneers, bonding)

Not sure if you’re a candidate? Schedule a consultation—we’ll review everything together!

???? Can Teenagers Get Zoom Whitening?

Zoom is designed for adult patients. Teenagers under 18 are typically not ideal candidates, as their teeth and enamel are still developing.

For younger patients, we can discuss gentler at-home alternatives and revisit Zoom when they’re ready.

❌ Can I Get Zoom If I Have Fillings, Crowns, or Veneers?

Zoom only works on natural tooth enamel—not porcelain or composite materials.

If you have visible dental work on your front teeth, we’ll talk about:

-

- Blending your whitening with new restorations

- Alternatives like bonding or veneers

- Customizing the shade for a seamless smile

???? Can I Use Whitening Strips Before Zoom?

It’s best to avoid whitening products right before your Zoom appointment. They can cause sensitivity or uneven whitening.

Instead, let us evaluate your current shade and create a safe, effective whitening plan that won’t irritate your gums or over-whiten your teeth.

???? What Should I Expect at the Consultation?

During your whitening consultation at Sweet Water Dentistry, we’ll:

-

- Review your dental history

- Check the health of your teeth and gums

- Discuss your goals and desired shade

- Take before photos and match your current color

- Build a customized Zoom whitening plan just for you

????️ Ready to Schedule Your Zoom Whitening?
