Bad Breath Causes and Treatment
Do you suffer from bad breath? Bad breath is a result of poor oral hygiene and it may also be a sign of other health problems as well. What many don’t know, is that many different kinds of foods also affect your breath! Garlic, especially, is one of the main food items that are a major cause of bad breath. Even after brushing and flossing, and even using mouthwash, garlic will still be present in your mouth until your body has completely disregarded it! To get rid of odor-causing bacteria in your mouth, you should brush and floss immediately after every time you eat. This will eliminate the odor-causing bacteria that grow in between your teeth and will help with bad breath. Tobacco (smoking and chewing it) not only causes bad breath but is extremely bad for your oral and general health. Not only that, but it also causes yellowing of the teeth.
There are many things you can do to eliminate bad breath. Brushing and flossing regularly, of course, and making sure that you brush and floss well after every meal. Bacteria that cause bad breath grows on your tongue too, so don’t forget to brush your tongue! Also, you should go to the dentist for regular check-ups, or at least twice a year. Drink a lot of water, and do not smoke or chew tobacco! If you have constant bad breath, that may be a warning sign of gum disease. Other illnesses and diseases that cause bad breath are bronchitis and sinus infections. Acid reflux will also cause bad breath as well.
