Teeth Whitening Methods

Are you interested in whitening your teeth? If so, check out the whitening methods offered here at Sweet Water Dentistry in Fairhope, AL. Whitening your teeth is a process of removing stains and bringing your smile up a few shades whiter. The outer layer of a tooth is called the enamel, and the color of your teeth is created by the reflection of light from your enamel and the dentin underneath. Teeth whitening improves your look, and smile, and is one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures. Whitening sometimes must be repeated to maintain the bright color you’re hoping to achieve.

We have several different whitening options at Sweet Water Dentistry. The first is called KOR, and this is the best type of whitening that we have to offer at our office. If you choose this option you will need to come to our office to get fitted for custom whitening trays. You must use these whitening trays for two weeks and you will be sent home with a whitening solution. Once you have completed the two weeks of take-home whitening, you will then come back to the office and receive an in-office whitening treatment to top it off.

Next to KOR, we offer another whitening solution called Venus. This process also requires that you get fitted with mouth trays. Venus is simply a take-home whitening solution, so it takes about two weeks and you will be finished with the whitening treatment. Another whitening option we have is called Opalescence Go. The process gives you 10 pre-loaded whitening trays. You will need to wear each tray for 15 minutes a day to get the results you are after. Using tobacco, drinking tea, cokes, coffee, and bad oral hygiene all lead to staining/yellowing of the teeth. If you are seeking a whiter smile, it is recommended that you stop these habits, and do not pick them back up after whitening.
