The bond between the original tooth and the porcelain veneer is important, as it not only provides the esthetic perfection desired but also provides a stable bond which is imperative for the veneer to function correctly. The light-sensitive bonding material is placed between the tooth and the veneer and is then hardened using a curing light.

Porcelain veneers are a very successful option in many situations such as if the original tooth has developed poor shape or color, you have cracked or fractured teeth, and/or have gaps between teeth. For some people, stains are not easily removed with normal tooth whitening or bleaching. In those cases, a porcelain veneer may be the best option.
